Beacon Hill resident parking program is established.

(ca.) The first resident parking program in Boston, it is created by Beacon Hill resident Mayor Kevin White, allegedly in response to complaints from his neighbors about the lack of parking in the area. Subsequent programs are soon established in the Back Bay, Bay Village, and other neighborhoods.
