Baroness Hilla Rebay von Ehrenweisen is arrested by federal authorities as a possible enemy alien. The mistress of Solomon Guggenheim, who was at that time planning to build a museum in New York, she is detained at the House of the Good Shepherd on Mission Hill. The baroness is allowed to receive visitors, shop, and carry on correspondence until her release eight weeks later.
