Aerosmith performs its first concert.

The group plays at Nipmuc Regional High School in Upton. It was formed by Joe Perry and Steve Tyler, and includes Tom Hamilton, Joey Kramer, and Brad Whitford. The band soon moves to a $300 per month apartment at 1325 Commonwealth Avenue. Championed by WBCN disc jockey Maxanne Sartori, it is later described by Brett Milano as “Boston’s first superstar band.” The band breaks up by 1980, reunites in 1984. and retires in 2024. A plaque is installed on their apartment building in 2012.*
