Adams (Marian “Clover” Hooper) is born in Boston.

The daughter of Dr. Robert and Ellen (Sturgis) Hooper, she marries Henry Adams in 1872, and lives at 91 Marlborough Street until moving to Washington, D.C. in 1877. Clover Adams becomes a well regarded photographer, but falls into a deep depression after the death of her father and commits suicide at her home at 1603 H Street in Washington, D.C. on December 6, 1885. She is buried in Rock Creek Cemetery in Washington.
