Bus-only lanes are initiated along Columbus Avenue.

Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority begins operating the service from Walnut Avenue to Jackson Square. They are the first, bus-only center lanes in Boston and Massachusetts. Plan call for them to eventually be extended to Ruggles Station.
