MBTA Communities Zoning Law is adopted.

January 31, 2021

Charlie Baker, the law requires the 177 Eastern Massachusetts communities served by the MBTA to pass new zoning and establish districts “of reasonable size” for multi-family housing near MBTA stations, where practical in order to address the housing shortage that has resulted from previous over-restrictive zoning in Boston area suburbs.
