Justina Pelletier decision clears Boston Children’s Hospital of patient negligence.

Suffolk County Court jury finds four doctors not guilty of negligence in a suit brought by the parents of Pelletier. A 14-year-old girl in 2013, Pelletier was separated from her parents and spent nearly a year in the hospital’s psychiatric wing after doctors and state officials suspected that she was the victim of medical care child abuse. After the decision is announced, one jurors explains, “At first blush, it looked and felt like these people took their daughter away. But the evidence bore out a more complicated story.”
