Founder and four executives of Insys Therapeutics Inc. are convicted of bribery.

The case is prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in US District Court in Boston. Founder John N. Kapoor and four others are subsequently the first pharmaceutical company executives sent to prison for promoting the over-use of opioids. A book on the case is published in 2022.*
