Referendum proposal to raise the cap on charter schools is defeated.

Massachusetts voters reject the proposal to increase the number of charter schools by a margin of 62% to 38%. In Boston, the proposal is defeated by a margin of 101,951 to 161,981 and supported in only 14 of the city’s 255 precincts
