Boston Redevelopment Authority’s urban renewal powers are extended.

Boston City Council votes to extend the agency’s powers over the 14 existing urban renewal areas until 2022. In return, the BRA agrees to meet with the council every six months to review activities activities within the areas and to notify the council and the state when it plans to acquire private property in those areas through the use of eminent domain.
