Jepthe Chery, 29, is shot and killed.

A Haitian immigrant, Chery had stopped by the Who’s On First bar after getting out of work as an MBTA conductor to meet friends and is killed by a stray bullet the day before his 30th birthday. Chery had attended the University of Massachusetts while working full-time and worn his MBTA uniform under his graduation gown. Mourners, many wearing their own MBTA uniforms, fill St. Angela’s Church for his funeral service, which is which is conducted in French, Creole, and English, on December 5, 2015.
