Goal! statue is dedicated.

Artist: Harry Weber. Popularly known as the Flying Bobby Statue, it located outside the TD Bank Garden at 100 Legends Way. It commemorates Bobby Orr’s 1970 goal that won the Stanley Cup for the Boston Bruins and mirrors the the famous photo by Boston Record American photographer Ray Lussier. At the dedication ceremony, Mayor Tom Menino compares the “Ionic” (sic) moment [to when] Havlicek stole the ball; Fisk waving the ball fair; Flutie launching the Hail Mary pass; Varitek (sic) splitting the uprights.”
