Green Line trolleys collide outside the Government Center Station.

A moving trolley slams into the back of a stopped trolley outside the station, injuring 62 passengers and causing $9 million in damages. It is later reported that the operator of the trolley that crashed was allegedly text messaging his girlfriend when the accident occurred. As a result of the accident, MBTA personnel are prohibited from using or even having cell phones with them during work hours.
