A. Arthur Giddon, 99, serves as batboy for the Boston Red Sox.

In a game in which the Red Sox beat the Yankees 16-11 at Fenway Park, Giddon serves as honorary batboy on the day before his 100th birthday. A resident of Bloomfield, Connecticut, Giddon was born in Boston on April 26, 1909, grew up in Brookline, and had served as a batboy for the Boston Braves in 1922 and 1923. A graduate of Harvard Law School, he was chairman of the Massachusetts State Committee of Young Republicans in 1938.
