Craigslist Murder occurs.

Julissa Brisman, 26, a masseuse who advertised her services on the classified advertising website, is found murdered in her room on the 20th floor at the Boston Marriot-Copley Place Hotel. Philip Markoff, a 22-year-old Boston University medical student, is subsequently arrested for the crime. Dubbed the “Craigslist Killer,” he commits suicide at the Suffolk County Jail on Nashua Street on August 15, 2010.
