Fifty-fourth Massachusetts Regiment is reactivated.

Deactivated after the Civil War, the unit is redesignated as the Massachusetts National Guard’s ceremonial unit in a ceremony at the State House. The regiment participates in the inaugural parade of President Barack H. Obama in Washington, D.C. on January 20, 2009.
