Massachusetts Sen. Dianne Wilkerson is arrested by the FBI.

Wilkerson (D-Roxbury) is arrested at her home. After being indicted for extortion on November 18, 2008, she resigns from office on November 19, 2008. After surveillance tapes show her accepting cash at a meeting at No. 9 Park Street on June 18, 2007, she pleads guilty to accepting $23,500 for helping a constituent to secure a liquor license and a private developer obtain state land, she is sentenced to serve three and a half years in Danbury Federal Prison on January 6, 2011.
