Founded by Charles Clemons, the 100-watt, unlicensed FM radio station operates from a home studio at 5 Cheney Street. It calls calls itself the “fabric of the black community” in Boston” and offers news, political commentary and music in an attempt to fill the gap left by the demise of station WILD. Fined by the FCC for operating illegally, it is shut down by federal marshals, who seize its transmission equipment, on April 17, 2014.
