New England Patriots become the first NFL team go undefeated in a 16-game season.

The Patriots beat the New York Giants 38-35 at Giants Stadium to eclipse the record of The Miami Dolphins, who went undefeated in a 14-game season in 1972. In the game, quarterback Tom Brady sets an NFL single-season record by throwing his 50th touchdown pass of the season and receiver Randy Moss sets an NFL record by catching his 23rd touchdown pass of the season.
