Barrel Wars break out.

Forty-eight hours after a major snowstorm, Mayor Tom Menino orders the Public Works Department to remove the various lawn chairs, barrels, and other objects being used to save shoveled-out parking spaces in South Boston. Resistance to the order is led by South Boston District City Councilor Jimmy Kelly, who declares, “I’ve got more barrels than he has trucks!”
