Boston Collegiate Charter Lower School opens.

Originally South Boston Harbor Academy, it is located at 11 Mayhew Street. The schools begins with 120 students in grades 5, 6, and 7, and subsequently expands to grades 5-12, adding a high school on Sydney Street.
