Moakley (J. Joseph) Federal Court House opens.

Architect: Henry Cobb. Pei Cobb Freed & Partners. Originally the Federal Court House, it is located at 1 Court House Way on Fan Pier. The massive red brick building, which features a curved aluminum and glass atrium, is named for the former South Boston resident and U.S. Representative on April 18, 2001. It features a harborside park designed by Larie Olin.
