August 13, 1997
It is believed to one of several hand-carved desks used by former Mayor James Michael Curley in his alternate office on Hawkins Street. The desk, which had been used in City Hall by former Mayor Kevin White, desk disappeared in the final days of his administration, and was being sought by his successor, Tom Menino.
