City On A Hill Charter School (first) opens.

Initially located in the YMCA Building at 316 Huntington Avenue, it moves to 58 Circuit Street in 2007. It opens a new school (second) on Washington Street in 2013* and another (third) in New Bedford in 2014, and is the first of the 15 charter schools in Boston with unionized teachers. The school is scheduled to close in June 2025.
