Massachusetts Affordable Health Care Law is adopted.

Passed by the Massachusetts legislature and signed by Gov. Mitt Romney, Chapter 58, An Act Providing Access to Affordable, Quality, Accountable Health Care is adapted from by the Heritage Foundation. The law makes Massachusetts the first state to provide near universal health insurance and serves as a model for the federal health care law passed in 2010.*
