Five men are killed while playing cars in a Chinatown social club.

Cuong Khanh Luu, 26, Man Cheung, 55, David Quang, 32, Chung Wah Son, 58, and Van Tran, 31, are shot at point blank range in an after-hours social club at 85A Tyler Street. They are believed to have been victims in a battle between crime organizations. Two of the three men involved in the shooting, Siny Van Tran (aka “Toothless Wah”) and Nam The Tram (aka “Johnny Cheung”) are convicted of the murders and sentenced to life in prison in 2005. A third man is still at large.
