Bergeron (Patrice) is born in L’Ancienne-Lorette, Quebec, Canada.

The son of Gerard Cleary and Sylvie Bergeron, Patrice Bergeron is drafted by the Boston Bruins in 2003 with the 45th pick in the second round of the National Hockey League. He plays his first game for the team, a 3-3 against the New Jersey Devils on October 8, 2003 at the FleetCenter. Bergeron goes on to the win the Selke award as the NHL’s best defensive forward a record six times and plays his entire 19 season-career with the team. By the time he retires in 2023, Bergeron ranks third in games played, second in goals, third in points, and fourth in assists in Bruins history.
