After a feature on how to clean chimneys to prepare for the imminent arrival of Santa Claus, Cole introduces a commercial break by saying, “We’ll be back with more alleged news in a moment.” He is suspended by the station for his comment, is not renewed when his contract expires in 1979, and subsequently creates a nightclub act called “Alleged News in Review.”
