Hard Hat Demonstration takes place at City Hall.

Some 2,000 construction workers march on City Hall to protest work stoppages and threats to their jobs. The demonstration comes after a confrontation that morning at a South End construction site between union workers and members of the Third World Workers Association, who were calling for 50% of the jobs on construction sites in minority neighborhoods to go to minorities.
