Boston Chinese parents submit a list of demands to the Boston School Committee.
July 30, 1975
Compiled by the newly-formed Chinese Parents Association, the list is in response to the soon-to-be-implemented Phase II busing plan. It includes demands for a minimum number of Chinese students, teachers, and staff at schools where Chinese students are being reassigned, as well as the hiring of Chinese-speaking bus escorts and school department at staff. When the demands are not met, parents begin a school boycott on September 8, 1975.*
