Smith (Joseph M.) Community Health Center is established.

Originally the Brighton-Allston Neighborhood Health Center, it is located at 51 Stadium Way. The center is created by residents who formed the Brighton-Allston Community Health Corporation in 1968 and subsequently named for a well-known community activist. Affiliated with St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, it moves to a new building in 2015 and changes its name to the Charles River Health Center in 2016.
