Massachusetts Rent Control Law (second) is adopted.

Massachusetts legislature passes Chapter 842, which that calls for rents to be rolled back to June levels for just under half of the approximately 120,000 units covered in Boston. The law covers approximately 168,000 rental units in city and takes effect in Boston on January 1, 1973.
