Charlesview Apartments (first) is built.

Architect: Samuel Mintz & Associates. Built by the Committee for North Harvard Street, it is located at 123 Western Avenue. Groundbreaking was held on November 3, 1969. Part of the North Harvard Street Urban Renewal Plan, the complex was built by a group of non-profit institutions after the original proposal for a high-rise luxury apartment building was opposed by by local residents. It is replaced by a new development (second) in 2013* and demolished in 2015.
