Boston Bruin Teddy Green suffers a serious injury in a fight during a game in Ottawa.

Green suffers a fractured skull in a fight with Wayne Maki of the St. Louis Blues in an exhibition game in Ottawa, Canada. Green is struck in the head by Maki’s stick, Both players are subsequently suspended for taking part in what is described as one of the most brutal fights in hockey history.
