Barros (Dana) is born in Boston.

The son of Dana Barros and Stephanie Mondesire, Dana Barros grows up in Mattapan, attends Boston College, and is a first-round draft pick of the Seattle Supersonics in the National Basketball Association. One of only two Boston natives to play in 500 or more games in the NBA (along with Bill Laimbeer), he goes on to play for the Philadelphia 76ers and Boston Celtics during his 14-year career. After retiring, he operates a recreation and education programs for Boston area young people.
