Blue Cross Blue Shield Building opens.

[1961] Architect: Paul Rudolph. Also known as the Union Warren Savings Bank Building, it is the first building in Boston designed in the Modernist style and one of the first new downtown high-rise buildings in many years, and is located at 133 Federal Street. It is subsequently named the Trans National Building.
