John Powers and John Collins are the top finishers in the preliminary election for mayor.

Powers, with 44,079 votes, and Collins, with 28,489, finish ahead of Gabriel Piemonte, 25,850, James Hennigan, 19,742, and John McMorrow, 12,100. Piemonte and Hennigan decline to endorse a candidate in the general election, while McMorrow endorses Collins.
