Where’s Boston? phrase is introduced.
April 30, 1956
(April) Returning to Boston on an airplane, Rev. W. Seavey Joyce, future president of Boston College, looks out of the window of the plane as it prepares to land at Logan Airport. Then he asks himself “Where’s Boston?” – because he can’t locate the city due to its modest skyline. The phrase becomes the name of a popular Bicentennial exhibit in Boston in 1976.*
