Columbia Point public housing development opens.

(April) Architect: M.A. Dyer. The largest public housing development in the state, it includes a number of high-rise, yellow-brick buildings. Although nominally integrated, its residents are primarily white. The development is converted into a private, mixed-income development in 1986.*
