Roche Brothers opens.
October 16, 1952
Orignally a meat market operated by brothers Patrick and Daniel “Bud” Roche, it is located in a former sewing machine store on Corinth Street. It becomes a full-service market in 1957. The company expands to include a supermarket in Needham in 1959 and in West Roxbury in 1967, and grows to some 20 stores. It is subsequently owned today by Pat’s sons Ed and Rick, who sell their controlling interest in the company RBSBW, Inc. in 2024.
