Jim Britt is the first television play-by-play announcer for the Red Sox.

He is succeeded by Curt Gowdy (1951), Ken Coleman and Ned Martin (1966), Coleman (1972), Dick Stockton (1975), and Ned Martin (1979). The games are first broadcast on cable television in 1984 and exclusively on cable beginning in 2006. Kent Der Divanis is the first announcer. He is succeeded by Ned Martin (1985), Sean McDonough (1988), Don Orsillo (2005) and Dave O’Brien (2016 to present).
