Wright (John Lincoln) is born in Boston.

1947

John Lincoln Wright grows up in Mattapan, then Norwell, and briefly attends Boston College. He subsequently complains, “[Boston is] absolutely the only place in the world that hates country music.” But he goes on to become a successful country and western musician, despite refusing to leave New England. Wright serves as front man for the Beacon Street Union rock band in the 1960s, then forms his own band, John Lincoln Wright & the Sour Mash Boys. He dies in Cambridge on December 4, 2011, fulfilling the prophecy of the song he wrote in 1991 entitled “Too Old to Die Young Now.”
