Labor Guild of the Boston Archdiocese is established.

It is founded by Rev. Mortimer Gavin, who is known as Boston’s “Labor Priest,” with the approval of Richard Cardinal Cushing. Its purpose is to promote better wages and working conditions, fairness and dignity for workers.
