Four prisoners attempt to escape from the Suffolk County House of Correction.

The prisoners steal a prison truck and attempt to cross Shirley Gut at low tide, but are forced to abandon the vehicle and flee on foot. Guards then commander the car of Boston Harbor Islands historian Edward Rowe Snow, who happened to be visiting the island, and capture and return the prisoners.
