Hampton (Henry) is born in St. Louis.

Henry Hampton graduates from Washington University and comes to Boston to work for the Unitarian Church in 1963. He forms the film production company, Blackside, Inc., in 1968,* which produces the documentary Eyes on the Prize in 1987,* moves to 88 Lambert Avenue from 1972 to 1987, and dies in 1998.
