(Sept.) In a speech at Boston Garden, Curley calls his opponent, incumbent Charles Hurley, “[An] excelsior-stuffed moron with the mentality of a three-year-old.” Curley goes on to defeat Hurley for the nomination, but loses in the general election in November.*
