Teacher’s Oath Law is adopted.

Approved by the Massachusetts legislature and signed by Gov. James Michael Curley, the law is sponsored by Rep. Thomas Dorgan (D-Dorchester). First proposed in 1935, it requires teachers “in both public and private educational institutions to swear to uphold the federal and state constitutions.” It is signed into law by Gov. James Michael Curley in 1937.
