Mansfield (D), with 70,035 votes, defeats Malcolm Nichols (R), with 68,312, William Foley, with 60,776, Henry Parkman, with 29,012, Joseph O’Connell, and Judge Michael Sullivan. Turnout is 218,361 or 78.2%. A fiscal conservative, Mansfield lives at 15 Elm Hill Avenue.
