Boston Redskins play their first game in the National Football League.

October 2, 1932

Originally the Braves, they lose 14-0 to the Brooklyn Dodgers at Braves Field. Owned by George Preston Marshall and three other men and coached initially by Lud Wray and then William H. “Lone Star” Dietz, the team posts a 4-4-2 record in its first year in the league. After a dispute over rent, Marshall moves the team to Fenway Park and changes the its name slightly in order to continue using the original uniforms in 1933. The team leaves Boston in 1936.*
