Parilli (Vito “Babe”) is born in Rochester, Pennsylvania.

Babe Parilli becomes an All-American quarterback at the University of Kentucky, then the quarterback for Boston Patriots in the American Football League (1961-67). He sets the new team’s records for touchdown passes in a season and in a career, and wins a Super Bowl with the New York Jets in 1969, where he backs up Joe Namath, who grew up in a neighboring town to his and for whom he was a childhood hero. Parilli dies July 15, 2017 in Denver, Colorado.
